A Reflection on Intuition and Discernment

I've never been an impulsive person. I prefer to think things through, consider the information available to me, and understand the implications before I make a decision. That approach has served me well throughout my career and in my personal life.

At the same time, experience has taught me that not everything important can be found in the information in front of us.

Sometimes there is an instinct that tells us to look a little closer. A person, a situation, an opportunity, or even a decision can create a feeling that something deserves further consideration before we move forward.

I've learned to pay attention to those moments.

Intuition Has Its Place

I don't see intuition as an alternative to logic. In fact, I think the two work particularly well together.

Our experience gives us context. Information gives us perspective. Analysis helps us evaluate what we know. Intuition can bring our attention to something we may not have consciously identified yet. The important part is discernment.

I don't automatically act on every feeling or instinct. I consider where it is coming from and whether it continues to make sense as I gather more information. Sometimes that initial feeling proves useful. Other times, looking more closely shows me that it was simply a reaction. Both are valuable to recognize.

Making Room for Perspective

I've also learned that stepping away from a decision can sometimes be just as useful as working through it.

When we're close to a situation, it can be difficult to see the larger picture. Creating some distance, taking a walk, spending time in nature, or simply giving the mind a break can change our perspective.

This is one of the reasons the Third Eye Chakra interests me. Its connection to inner vision is not about predicting what will happen. It is about developing our ability to observe, recognize patterns, and see beyond the most obvious interpretation.

Listening to What We Notice

Building Thara Sacra has given me even more opportunities to work with this balance. The brand is rooted in subtle energy and intuition, while creating and running a business requires research, planning, structure, and practical decision-making.

For me, discernment is the process of bringing them together. We can gather the facts, draw on our experience, listen to our instincts, and then decide what deserves our attention.

That is how I think about inner guidance today. It isn't about abandoning reason or looking for an answer outside ourselves. It is about becoming more aware of everything that informs our decisions and learning to recognize what is worth listening to.
